Where Biology Meets Data Science…
An executive, scientific researcher and thought leader on inequity in healthcare.
Warren A. Whyte, PhD is an executive, scientific researcher and thought leader on bias and inequity in healthcare. Having founded the health equity program ERACE (Engaging Research to Achieve Cancer Care Equity) at ConcertAI, Whyte empowers life sciences companies looking to disrupt traditional modes of care by embracing new models to achieve equitable health outcomes and realize more value in the face of increased pricing pressures.
Whyte has a distinguished career in healthcare research, leading key scientific initiatives while engaging patients, clinicians, regulators and other stakeholders across several sub-industries in healthcare. He also provides strategic and advisory support designed to create a healthcare system that is more equitable and patient-focused for improved outcomes. In this capacity, Whyte is establishing medical societies and biopharma partners as leaders in health research and digital solutions.
Prior to his current role, Whyte led strategic delivery of RWD and analytics offerings at Accenture, the third largest IT services company in the world, with a staff of 730,000 and annual revenues of $61 billion USD. There he spearheaded the development and implementation of topline strategies in precision medicine, data science, oncology, and digital transformation with meaningful engagement of various stakeholder groups.
Preceding his position at Accenture, Whyte consulted for several biopharmaceutical companies within the life sciences industry and led research in genomics and molecular biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research in cancer genomics and molecular biology facilitated the creation of Syros Pharmaceuticals (NSDQ:SYRS), a venture-backed company invested in the clinical development of gene therapies.
Throughout his career, Whyte has worked to advance healthcare and optimize care delivery, and has been a leader in the efforts to improve drug access and treatment outcomes. He is recognized for his excellence in scientific teaching and mentorship as well as his leadership of complex scientific initiatives and programs like ERACE. Whyte’s writing, including numerous OpEds, has been featured in the Boston Business Journal, HIT Consulting, and STAT News for the Boston Globe, both moderated and paneled several webinars and podcasts, and currently is drafting guidance and recommendations for health industry leaders looking to raise health industry standards.
Whyte has published in several peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Cell and Nature, completed his MA and PhD in genomics from MIT, and a BA in cell biology from Cornell University.
